No, it's not a giant oven mit! LOL! Harpist Samantha Ballard loads up her beautiful instrument after being Sarah Jo Kirsch's guest for another holiday edition of Birchwood Jaguar 107 LIVE! British Columbia. She studied with Elizabeth Volpé Bligh, principal harpist of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

Samantha has had the pleasure of attending two World Harp Congresses in Vancouver, Canada, and Sydney, Australia. She has performed internationally in Mons, Belgium, and has participated in masterclasses by world-renowned harpists Alice Giles and Maria Palatine. Locally, Samantha has performed with the U of M Concert Choir, MUSAIC, Camerata Nova, and Women of Note, and also presents an annual Christmas concert. Samantha was also invited to play at the Rio Harp Festival in May 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

 

 

Samantha is putting on a Christmas concert featuring harp and voice this Friday December 16 @ 7:30 PM--- this time featuring her good friend and vocalist Danielle Morton with percussion by Melissa Ballard. There will be some familiar songs from last year and many new and delightful arrangements of Christmas songs both old and new which Samantha is very excited about. There will be a reception to follow.
