The Winnipeg-based prairie songstress will join us Wednesday morning to perform and talk about her involvement in the WSO's Benefit Concert for Sistema Wpg on Thursday night---Changing Lives Through Music.

Raine melds her love of the violin into the singer-songwriter genre, writing for violin and voice, as well as for guitar and voice.

She's performed for the Governor General of Canada, at the West End Cultural Centre, Edge of the World Festival (Haida Gwaii BC), Home County Festival (ON), Festival du voyageur, Rainbow Trout, Fire and Water, Harvest Sun, Matlock, Anola Little Music Festival, and the Shine on Festival of Music and Arts.

Raine's first full-length album, Past Your Past, was released in May of last year.

Raine began teaching violin in Sistema more than 5 years ago when the program first began

The Sistema Benefit Concert on Thursday night will be an uplifting event in the heart of the community Sistema Winnipeg serves---Maples Commons in Maples Collegiate. Special guests include Raine, plus Don Amero, Manitoba Opera star Lara Ciekiewicz, and of course, the WSO.

All proceeds directly fund Sistema Winnipeg. For tickets go here.
