There's a need to offload some cats at the Winnipeg Humane Society.

They've got 142 cats that have been exposed to the cat cold, and though not all of them are sick or show symptoms, they do need to be quarantined from the rest.

But WHS communications coordinator Kyle Jahns says they don't have the space for that.

Jahns says only cats can get the cat cold, which is similar to the cold we humans get. He says they're more likely to display symptoms if they're stressed and overcrowded.

If you've got a cat that's displaying cold-like symptoms, Jahns says there are a couple things you can do to alleviate the pain.

Jahns says if you adopt one of theirs that's displaying symptoms, for a period of time, you can bring it to the WHS clinic for a free health check.
