Guitarist Milos and The Beatles take over the slot for the month of February. Listen to our interview with Milos here too!

Hailing from Montenegro, but now loved all around the world, guitarist Milos Karadaglic has released his newest Deutsche Grammophon CD dedicated to the music of The Beatles, entitled Blackbird.

Born in Montenegro in 1983, Milos first started playing the guitar at the age of 8. When he was 16 he successfully applied for a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music and moved to London where he continues to live while keeping close ties with his family and homeland.

Classic 107 host Michael Wolch had the opportunity to talk with Milos who was in Munich, Germany.  He started their conversation off by asking Milos when he discovered The Beatles growing up in Montenegro and what other music influenced him in his youth.

This is his 5th official CD for DG, and perhaps his greatest departure. After CDs dedicated and featuring the guitar classics by Rodrigo, Albeniz, Granados, Villa Lobos and more, Milos turns his attention to the classic hits of The Beatles, with a great deal of style, honesty and success. The new CD features tracks like Yesterday, Here Comes The Sun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Michelle, All My Loving, and even has several guest appearnces by jazz singer Gregory Porter (Let It Be), Tori Amos (She's Leaving Home), cellist Steven Isserlis (Michelle) and sitarist Anoushka Shankar (Strawberry Fields Forever).

This is a very pleasurable listen from beginning to end. Here is a little sample from the CD:
