Judith Oatway, co-founder and artistic director of Flipside Opera and Art Song Collective, on the return of the refreshing and fun operatic event.

After a COVID-induced hiatus, Flipside Opera and Art Song Collective’s “Opera by the Pint” returns to Little Brown Jug Brewing Co.

“We’re just very excited to do this,” says Flipside’s Artistic Director Judith Oatway. “I know people are going to be excited to sing!”

The spontaneous event of unrehearsed performances takes opera out of the concert hall and into the brew hall.

“It’s a very informal and casual event,” explains Oatway. “These singers will have picked songs they just want to get out there and do… a fun and exhilarating way to perform!”

The two sets, featuring 4-5 emerging and established performers, will take place on the recently expanded Little Brown Jug patio, beginning at 7PM on Wednesday, August 18.
