Karl Stobbe and Jocelyn Morlock were the winners in their categories at the 2015 Western Canadian Music Awards on Sunday.

This weekend was a big occasion for violinist Karl Stobbe and composer Jocelyn Morlock. The two celebrated Winnipeg artists were winners at the 2015 Western Canadian Music Awards and Breakout West Classical Showcase in Victoria, BC, this weekend. Stobbe won the 2015 Classical Recording of the Year for Ysaye: Sonatas for Solo Violin (I had an interview with him about the album last February, which can be read here). Morlock won the Classical Composition of the Year for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra/Bramwell Tovey recording of 'Oiseaux Bleus et Sauvages' from her album Colbalt. Stobbe also performed Morlock's double violin concerto with Jonathan Crow, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra with Alain Trudel conducting (featured in the Cobalt CD). Here are some pictures from the event.

Congrats to Karl and Jocelyn!
