The pressure is on for the Winnipeg Ice as they now travel to Washington for games three, four and five of the WHl Championship Series.

The Winnipeg Ice and Seattle Thunderbirds faced each other twice this weekend with games on Friday and Saturday. The Ice took the Friday game, 3-2.

With a power play in the first period, Connor McClennon scored the opening goal, with Evan Friesen following suit. Carson Latimer scored the game-winning goal in the second period

Ice goaltender Daniel Hauser made 27 saves and earned the victory in the net.

It was Reid Schaefer and Kevin Korchinski who scored for the Thunderbirds.

However, the Ice lost 2-4 on Saturday's home game.

Brad Lambert with two, and Jeremy Hanzel and Schaefer with one goal were the victorious shooters for the Thunderbirds.

For the Ice, it was Zach Benson who was the lone player who found the back of their opponent's net twice with assists from Graham Sward, and  Matthew Savoie and McClennon.

The Thunderbirds outshot the Ice 39-31, with opposing goaltender Thomas Milic earning the victory in net.

The score is now tied 1-1 with the next game on Tuesday, May 16 with Game 3 at accesso ShoWare Center.
