A Winnipeg woman is facing two charges after a Sunday evening collision.

The Winnipeg Police Service alleges that at approximately 11:44 p.m., officers were sitting inside a parked car in the eastbound parking lane of Silver Avenue near Albany Street when a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire traveling westbound suddenly swerved and collided with the police vehicle. According to police, both vehicles were left with "extensive damage."

The WPS says that neither officer was injured, and that both of them attended to the 32-year-old female driver, who was the only occupant. She sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to hospital by ambulance, for further evaluation where she was cleared.

The woman is now facing a charge of Operation of a Conveyance While Impaired to Any Degree by BAC or Drug or Combination of Both, as well as Fail or Refuse to comply with Demand. She was released via an Appearance Notice.

The allegations have not been proven in court.
