More than 1,300 people from four First Nations in Manitoba have been forced to flee their homes due to wildfires in the eastern part of the province.

The residents of Pauingassi, Little Grand Rapids, Bloodvein and Berens River First Nations have been sent to Winnipeg and Brandon with the help of the Canadian Red Cross.

The Red Cross says they have fully evacuated Pauingassi and Little Grand Rapids earlier this week.

Similar efforts are still in the works in Bloodvein and Berens River.

There were 130 fires burning in the province yesterday after weeks of hot, dry weather.
