We spend some time this weekend in Paris, Italy, the mountains and more...

The Orchestre de Paris just held a fantastic concert programme on Wednesday & Thursday, featuring violinist Lisa Batiashvili with music by Shostakovich, Schubert and Nielsen. I will play you music that they featured in the concert in the first hour of the show.

Then, we will play music inspired by the City of Lights, with Edith Piaf, accordions, Faure, swing guitar and more.

Italy is also calling our name, so we will call on Bellini, Legnani, Donizetti and Testa. Testa you say? Yes, Gianmaria Testa, the Leonard Cohen or Tom Waits of Italy and one of my favourite bards. I have several songs lined up from his amazing CD Il Valzer di un Giorno.

As always I have a whole array of other music to entertain you, relax you, and inspire you on this Saturday afternoon. So, tune in and joine me, Michael Wolch, from noon-6:00pm for another radio journey on the Wide World of Classical Music.

If you ever have any requests, questions or comments please don't hesitate to send me an email at mwolch@goldenwestradio.com
