OCTOBER! It's a new month, join host Michael Wolch for an ongoing musical adventure.

Right off the top I should mention that in the 2:00 hour this weekend I will have a Winnipeg exclusive interview with the dynamic, celebrated violinist Anne Akiko Meyers. She has a brand new CD out called Serenade The Love Album and I had the chance to talk to her last week about the recording and some of the amazing experiences she has had over her already 3 decade career (including performances on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson).  I will also be playing several tracks from the beautiful new CD.

Oh, by the way, Anne Akiko Meyers also plays on the most expensive violin in the world, the Vieuxtemps Guarneri del Gesu (1741). worth over $16 million dollars!

Raise your hand. Who likes their sweets? I see a lot of hands rising out there, and imagine your minds are now wandering to your favourite moist chocolate cake, cream puffs or other delectable desserts. Well, I have an hour, or two, just for you. One hour of songs with "sweet" in the title, and 1 hour of "suites", a little play on words to keep you amused and satisfied on this Saturday afternoon.

John Rutter: What Sweeter Music

Peruvian singer Juan Diego Florez's new CD entitled Italia is brimming with fun, passionate and popular Italian and Neapolitan favourites. You will probably recognize every song and want to sing along - don't worry if anyone is watching you, just enjoy the music and transport yourself to the heart and sunshine of Italy!

Here is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the CD:
