This week on the show Maestro Mickelthwate revels in the times during the season the WSO is able to layer the music of the orchestra with soloists and choir, for a grand, full, lush sound. This week we pull those layers apart. Tune in!

This week 60 Minutes with the WSO talks with University of Ottawa Professor of Choral Music Laurence Ewashko. Mr. Ewashko was intrumental in making a very special work by Larysa Kuzmenko happen. It's called  'Golden Harvest' and it commemorates the 125th anniversary of the arrival of the first Ukrainians to Canada. The WSO will perform the world premier Mar 18 & 20 as part of the Carmina Burana concerts.

We'll also meet long time choir director and WSO collborator William Baerg. Mr. Baerg shares a wonderful story about working with the legendary choral conductor Robert Shaw.

One of the concerts that will certainly cross genres this season is this coming weekend's (Mar 11-13) concert, The Best of Rufus Wainwright. We'll hear from Mr. Wainwright himself on his love of classical music and how it influences his music.
