Manitobans can expect vaccination mandates to continue province-wide throughout the winter.

Dr. Brent Roussin, Manitoba's Chief Public Health Officer, says it is difficult to say for sure, but people can expect the COVID-19 vaccine mandates to remain in place for many more months.

"We have to expect that this will carry us through the typical respiratory virus season, so through winter and to spring. Obviously, we review all of these things all the time but I think given the state of our healthcare system and the demands that the respiratory season will be likely to put on it, it is very likely it will have to take us through this winter," Roussin says.

He is anticipating the current mandates, including a new vaccination mandate for specific jobs such as healthcare and education, will remain in place.
