Taking to the ice in a doubleheader against the Prince Albert Raiders last weekend on home grounds, the Winnipeg Ice confidently rose to victory.

On Saturday, Winnipeg ICE forward Matthew Savoie had three assists, to eclipse the 90-point mark this season, as the ICE beat the Prince Albert Raiders 4-1 Saturday night at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.

Zack Ostapchuk, Evan Friesen, Ben Zloty and Connor McClennon scored as Winnipeg set a new franchise record with their 54th win of the season. The WHL record for most wins by a team in a 68-game regular season schedule is 54, now shared by Winnipeg and the 2018-19 Raiders.

Carter Anderson had the lone goal for Prince Albert, who were outshot 27-20.

Daniel Hauser earned his 36th win of the season in net for the ICE. He is now tied with Wyatt Hoflin (2014-15) for the most wins by a goaltender in franchise history.

Tikhon Chaika suffered the loss between the pipes for P.A.

The ICE finished the game 2/5 on the power play while the Raiders went 1/4.

Captain Carson Lambos had eight shots on goal as the ICE outshot Prince Albert 47-30.

Carter Anderson had the lone Raider marker. Goaltender Max Hildebrand allowed six goals on 42 shots before being pulled in favour of Tikhon Chaika with 8:40 remaining in regulation time.

The ICE host Moose Jaw, at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming. A win against the Warriors would set a new WHL record for home wins during a 68-game regular season schedule with 30.
