Winnipeg police are searching for a man who they say committed an indecent act near a school in the Glenlawn area.

Officers were alerted of the incident on Tuesday morning. Police say school staff at École Varennes Elementary School found a man outside of a school exit door area committing an indecent act. 

Staff contacted the police; however, the suspect fled before they arrived. 

No assaults took place, and no one was injured. 

Winnipeg Police are now looking for a white male in his 20s with an unkempt appearance. He has a thin build and was wearing loose-fitting pants and a sweater. 

Anyone with information, including home surveillance in this area, is asked to call the investigating unit at 204-986-2861 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS.

The investigation is ongoing.
