To celebrate its 10 anniversary, Bike Week Winnipeg is putting on several bike-friendly programming throughout the city from June 5-11.

Bike Week begins with the city-favourite Bike to Work Day, happening on June 5, where cyclists can take to the streets whether it's biking around the block, taking a ride on a lunch break or commuting to the office.

Cycling enthusiasts can also stop at one (or all) of the 57 pitstops that will be set up throughout the city from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Throughout the week, Bike Week Winnipeg has planned to celebrate this milestone with 10 birthday parties, with eight of them happening on Bike to Work Day.

Next week will also include 20+ live events, digital offerings and at-your-own-speed activities, such as group rides, open shop hours, videos, podcasts, workshops, birthday parties and a Traditional Trails Ride showcasing Indigenous Culture from the seat of a bike fill out the week.

"Cycling makes us happy," says Dave Elmore, Bike Week Board Chair. "And for our birthday this year, our wish is to spread happiness around the city by promoting a multitude of events that celebrate the bike and everyone who rides."

All Winnipeggers are welcome to celebrate 10 years of Bike Week at our Birthday Bash, on Saturday, June 11th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Legislative Grounds, corner of Assiniboine and Memorial. It’s a free, family party including bike-themed activities, cookies, free hot dogs, bike
repair and a Giant Slide. Plus music by James Culleton’s Superfun Show, Papa Mambo, and a Mama Cutsworth family dance party for visitors and their bikes.

"We can't wait to showcase the best of biking in Winnipeg this year," says Jennie O, Event Producer. "Whether you ride for sport, recreation, to commute, or for the love of it, riding a bike is fun. Our tenth Bike Week is for you. So, let's get happy and celebrate."
