Go for a swim

The City of Winnipeg has a number of public pools open for free swims throughout the week, with the exception of Good Friday, which will close all pools except Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex.

Learn more about nature

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is gearing up for spring break with fun activities and free tiger zipper pulls for the first 100 visitors. Between Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, April 1, families can go on an Asian expedition with camels, tigers and gibbons (between 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.), complete challenges for an Easter treat, or catch a wagon ride for just $3 a person between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. every weekday.

Gain more knowledge

Just because the kids are out of school, doesn't mean they need to stop learning. Manitoba Electrical Museum is a free way to learn more about different legends of electricity, including Watt, Ohm, Edison, and Volta. The museum is open from Monday, March 26 until Thursday, March 29 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Children's Museum is also celebrating spring break with castle building. All your kid needs is to grab a construction hat and get busy. 11:00 a.m. - 3:0 p.m. daily starting Saturday, March 24 and running until Easter Sunday, April 1.

On the topic of museum's, the Manitoba Museum invites you to explore the small during spring break by coming down between Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, April 1. Museum hours are 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Take to the skies at the Royal Aviation Museum with spring break activities all week long, including paper plane fun, with daily competitions at 3:00 p.m. Plus, catch the easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1 at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Pre-register your child ahead of time.

Catch the game

The Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose are both in town all week long, giving families an amazing chance to catch plenty of action. The Jets play Anaheim, Nashville, and Boston on March 23, 25, and 27 (7:00 p.m. start, Nashville 6:00 p.m.). The Moose hope to continue a successful season against the Stockton Heat on Saturday, March 24, 7:00 p.m. Then they play back-to-back against the Rockford IceHogs on March 26 and 28 (7:00 p.m.) and the Toronto Marlies on March 30 and 31 (7:00 p.m.).
