The Province is asking its citizens to weigh in on the arts and culture sector in Manitoba.

The government wants to get an idea of how it can adapt its culture policies to reflect new technologies and ways of expressing and viewing art.

Minister of sport, culture, and heritage Rochelle Squires says there hasn't been a review on the cultural scene in Manitoba since 1992.

She says Manitoba is a cultural hub and the government wants to preserve and promote that.

A discussion paper has been released to get the ball rolling, and Manitobans can give their opinions until June 30th.

Manitoba Arts Council CEO Akoulina Connell says we need to think about what our value proposition is and ask: how do we position ourselves.

Connell says the arts council wants to know how Manitoba can have a more collaborative model.
