One of the really great things about the WSO is all the collaboration they get to do! They work with different arts groups, composers, vocalists, musicians, and dancers to create really special live experiences for all of you. This week, host Alexander Mickelthwate dives into the collaboration between ballet and symphony orchestra.

This fall, the WSO presents the Music of the Impressionists festival, and much of this music is known for ballet performances. But this music is so beautiful, the orchestrations so lush, that it stands alone without the visual aspect. Of course, ballet and orchestra go hand in hand, so this week host Alexander Mickelthwate will talk about about ballet, as well as other forms of dance, with live symphonic music.

We'll also hear from Earl Stafford, former Music Director of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet;

Jaime Vargas, RWB Ballet Master and Community Outreach Coordinator;

And David Vamos, Artistic Director of the Sarah Sommer Chai Folk Ensemble.

And, of course, it goes without saying that we’ll listen to some great ballet and dance music!

Tune in Sunday evening at 5PM!

And don't forget about our ENCORE performances Monday evening @ 8PM and Wednesday night @ midnight following Jazz After 9!
